2022 Summer School
If your counselor has recommended that your student attend summer school, it is important to complete their enrollment online. The process is completed through ParentConnect; we recommend that you complete this process as soon as possible to confirm their attendance in summer school. Corona High or the district offices will communicate additional information out as it becomes available. For directions, please reference the attached image.


Dates: *Updated*
Session 1: June 9 - July 1, 2022 (17 days)
Session 2: July 5 - July 27, 2022 (17 days)
ESY/Life Skills: June 13 - July 8, 2022 (19 days)
*No School Monday, July 4th

In-Person Times:
AM Session 8:30am-11:50am
PM Session 12:20am-3:40pm
ESY/Life Skills 8:30am-12:30pm

Attendance:
Students can miss a class for 2 days. One minute more and the student is dropped regardless of the reason.

  • Roosevelt High* (where the majority of NHS students attend)
  • Lee Pollard (where Corona High students will attend due to construction)
  • Centennial High(where Ind. Study is held for non-grad Seniors)
  • Virtual (100% online)

*ESY/Life Skills will be offered

Courses Offered:

In-Person:

*Class may be taken for initial credit (the student does not need a D or F from an earlier attempt at the class to be eligible).

  • Language Arts - Credit recovery only
  • Math - Credit recovery only
  • Science - Credit recovery only
  • History* - Can take for credit recovery or for impacted schedules for students enrolled in an AVID, CTE, or AP pathway. Priority given to students who need credit recovery.
  • Special Ed
  • PE - Credit recovery only
  • Life Skills*
  • ELD* - Must be in the English Learner Program.
  • Art* - Must have an impacted schedule and enrolled in an AVID, CTE, or AP pathway.

  • Health*

  • Natural Science - Credit recovery only

How to Sign Up:
Counselors will be meeting with students during February to discuss their course selection for next year. During this meeting, counselors will sign up students for any classes they may have earned a D or F in from last semester. Starting in March, parents must login to Parent Connect to confirm the Summer School classes. We will message families when we closer in March. Counselors will continue to sign up students through the end of the semester as they track and monitor student's Semester 2 grades.

Who Qualifies:  *Updated*

  • Next year's 9-12th grade students who have a D or F in any class may take Summer School for credit recovery.
  • Next year's 9-12th grade students with impacted schedules may take History, PE, Art, or  for initial credit in Summer School if they qualify (must be in AVID, CTE, or all AP classes).
  • Next year's 9-12th grade student may take Health.
  • Any current 12th graders who did not meet the CNUSD graduation requirement (will attend Independent Study at Centennial High).
  • Current 8th graders may ONLY take AVID Bridge, EL Bridge, and SpEd Bridge classes. They may NOT take any courses for initial credit to get ahead. See below...

Summer Boost/Bridge (Current 8th Graders)

  • Dates: June 8 - June 30
  • Times: same as High School
  • Locations: Centennial High and Roosevelt High
  • Courses Offered: AVID, ELD, and Special Education (may not take any high school courses for initial credit.)
  • How to Sign Up: wait for instructions provided by your school or the district office. High School counselors do not have access.

Registration Process
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Your student has been enrolled into Summer School by their site counselor’s recommendation. In order to save your child’s seat in
Summer School and complete his/her enrollment, you are required to confirm/approve their Summer

School enrollment within Q Parent Connect.
1) Go to https://parentconnect.cnusd.k12.ca.us
2) Log in with your PIN & Password
If you do not know your Parent Connect login information, please contact your student’s school site for assistance.
3) Select the [Online Registration] button (upper right hand corner)
4) Select [EDIT] next to your student’s name
5) Go to the [Summer School - Registration] section
6) Review the guidelines then sign & date the section, then [Submit]
7) A confirmation email will be sent to your email on file at the end of the day upon completion.

NOTE: Starting this summer school, all summer school progress reports and report cards will only be available in a digital format in Parent and Student Connect. More details to follow in the coming months.

Favor de seguir estos simples pasos y complete este proceso a más tardar del 30 DE MARZO DEL 2020.

1) Vaya a https://parentconnect.cnusd.k12.ca.us
2) Inicie la sesión con su PIN y contraseña Si no sabe su información para iniciar su sesión en Parent Connect, póngase en contacto con la escuela de su estudiante y pida asistencia.
3) Seleccione [Online Registration] (esquina superior a la derecha)
4) Seleccione [EDIT] al lado del nombre de su estudiante
5) Vaya a la sección [Summer School - Registration]
6) Repase la poliza y luego firme/fecha y confirme la sección, y
seleccione [Submit]
7) El día que complete la inscripción recibirá un correo electrónico confirmando que ha completado la inscripción. Se mandará a su correo electrónico que tenemos en nuestro sistema.

NOTA: A partir de este curso de verano, todas los informes del progreso académico en los cursos de verano y las boletas de calificaciones solamente estarán disponibles electrónicamente a través de Parent y Student Connect. Más información con detalles en los próximos meses.
